Hundreds of entries to vie for WSC 2018 title

Over 300 hundred entries and counting are registered and ready to rumble in this year’s first edition World Slasher Cup (WSC) to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum from January 29 to February 7. Excitement is brewing among top gamefowl experts and breeders as to which of their prized bloodlines will bring home the prestigious title and the hefty pot money along with it.

Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions and supported by B-Meg, Thunderbird, Petron, and Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists, WSC is the most prestigious international derby known to aficionados as the Olympics of Cockfighting.

Top local breeders and their foreign counterparts will soon be introduced to the public in the upcoming press conference at the deluxe businessman’s hotel, Novotel Manila-Araneta Center.

Passionate participants, the best breeds, and clean fights – these are still the landmark characteristics that make the WSC a cut above the rest. Past champions have signed up for the upcoming derby, as well as cockfighting enthusiasts and breeders from California, Utah, Tennessee, Georgia, Washington, and Alabama are the latest contenders from the United States.

For participants, this year’s World Slasher Cup 9-cock invitational derby begins with the 2-cock Eliminations from January 29-31. Qualifiers will them move on to the 3-cock Semi-Finals set on February 1 to 3.

Individual entries with scores of 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5 points qualify for the 4-cock Pre-Finals. Entries with scores of 4, 4.5 and 5 will compete for the top prize in the 4-cock Grand Finals on February 7.
