World Slasher Cup recognizes new champs
The week-long World Slasher Cup 1 2020 ended with three winning entries – all first-time champs in this prestigious international cock derby – tying for the top plum.
In the awarding ceremonies held on January 31 at the Novotel Hotel Araneta City, the three champs of WSC 1 2020 were recognized:
· Edwin Tose and Daday Siochi (Team 419 DS Solid North GF)
· Carlos Gayoso and Arnold Mendoza (Team Matandang Gasan 1)
· May May (Team Batang San Juan)
All three teams led the competition with 8-1 scores each, earning them all their first World Slasher Cup title. They all earned a trophy, and the bragging rights that will give them confidence for the succeeding derby fights.
Joining in the recognition rites are the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 queens: Gazini Ganados (Miss Universe Philippines), Patricia Magtanong (Binibining Pilipinas – International), Leren Bautista (Binibining Pilipinas – Globe), Resham Saeed (Binibining Pilipinas – Supranational), Emma Tiglao (Binibining Pilipinas – Intercontinental), Aya Abesamis (Binibining Pilipinas – Grand International), and Samantha Bernardo (Binibining Pilipinas runner-up).
The event was made more special with the presence of Rayandra Alexander Seville, the daughter of the late American breeder Ray Alexander. With this edition’s World Slasher Cup a tribute to her father, Rayandra received a token of appreciation for her father’s contribution in the cock fighting community.
